Marbella's Marbell Centre, a shopping complex in the city centre that has been closed for the past 30 years, is set to reopen.
The local council has granted approval for a real estate firm to redevelop the site, bringing it back to life as originally intended. Spanning over 18,000 square metres, the property will feature shops, leisure facilities, and a variety of restaurants.
The new owners aim to modernise and relaunch the centre, transforming it into an appealing destination that serves the needs of both residents and visitors, while also becoming a key focal point for the area.
The group leading the project has committed around €25 million to the redevelopment, which will include significant interior changes, such as expanding and modernising spaces, as well as updating the façade to make the building more open and inviting.
The redevelopment team hopes to have the Marbell Centre up and running by Christmas 2025, creating at least 150 new jobs in the process.
The updated layout will include a bowling alley and games area, a gym, bars and terraces, as well as office and storage spaces.
