New High-Speed Train Service Between Malaga & Madrid

Written by CallowEstates | December 6, 2024 10:01:00 AM Z

French-owned company Ouigo is set to launch its high-speed train service connecting the Costa del Sol, Cordoba, and Madrid early next year.

Long-Awaited Service

Frequent travellers between Malaga and Madrid will welcome this news. After several years of delays due to technical compatibility issues between the trains and the tracks, Ouigo, the French low-cost train operator, is ready to begin operations. Although an exact start date hasn’t been confirmed, services are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

Tickets Available Soon

Tickets for the new route will go on sale from Thursday, 12 December. To mark the occasion, Ouigo will launch significant promotional discounts to attract new customers. Even outside of these special offers, the company prides itself on offering the lowest fares on the market.

Competitive Pricing

Using the Alicante route as a comparison, Ouigo offers one-way tickets from as little as €9 for January, and with short notice, fares can be as low as €15. This affordability is made possible by high-capacity Alstom Euroduplex trains, which feature 509 seats over two levels. During peak travel times, such as Christmas, Easter, and summer holidays, double train formations will provide up to 1,018 seats per journey.

Ouigo will reveal more details about its special launch offers and confirm the exact service start date on 12th December. This new service promises to provide an affordable and efficient travel option for those commuting between Malaga and Madrid..
