Marbella is one step closer to a major upgrade in sports infrastructure, as plans for a new municipal stadium take a significant leap forward. The council has dismissed attempts to block the €114 million project, confirming it as a top priority for the city’s future.
The winning design - selected through an architectural competition - will be developed on a 45,000-square-metre plot and include a 10,000-seat stadium, retail units, team accommodation, and over 1,000 parking spaces. Demolition of the current stadium is expected to begin this summer, and construction is set to take two years.
The project aims to deliver a modern multi-use facility, promoting youth sports clinics, hosting events, and serving a range of municipal activities. It marks a bold step forward for Marbella’s sporting and community infrastructure.
