Marbella's Golden Mile is about to get even more glamorous! Tatel, the renowned haute cuisine restaurant group backed by tennis superstar Rafa Nadal and basketball legend Pau Gasol, is set to launch a spectacular new establishment in town.
Tatel will be taking over the iconic Villa Tiberio, a sprawling estate nestled amidst lush gardens right in the heart of the Golden Mile. While the project is still in its early stages, with significant work ahead, we can expect a grand opening sometime from late summer onwards – but likely not before August. The interior is already seeing some development, building anticipation for what's to come!
This won't be just any Tatel. Marbella's new spot is embracing the popular "beach club" concept. Imagine this: mornings will offer a vibrant pool club experience, transforming into one of Tatel's most exclusive haute cuisine restaurants by evening. Located on a large and privileged stretch of the Marbella coast, it's set to be a truly unique destination.
True to the brand's signature style, the new Marbella restaurant will deliver an exceptional haute cuisine dining experience complemented by live music and a carefully curated ambiance. Tatel's managers have been eyeing Marbella for some time, drawn to its growth, rejuvenation, and strong leadership.
It's still early days, but Tatel has already started scouting for talent! Vacancies for key roles like executive chef and human resources coordinator have already been advertised on specialized job platforms, signalling that things are moving forward.
The chosen site, Villa Tiberio, holds a rich history. For decades, it stood as one of Marbella's most extravagant and luxurious restaurants, specializing in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Opened in 1989 by Sandro Morelli, its stunning gardens, complete with fountains, a lake, and classical sculptures, were a magnet for celebrities like Sean Connery. The villa sadly closed its doors in March of last year, making way for Tatel to write its next chapter.
Tatel restaurants are part of Mabel Hospitality, the gastronomic arm of Mabel Capital, founded by Abel Matutes Prats, Rafa Nadal, and Manuel Campos, with Pau Gasol and Cristiano Ronaldo as partners. But their vision for Marbella extends beyond culinary delights.
In parallel with the restaurant's development, Mabel Capital has also embarked on an ambitious urban development plan in Marbella. This year, they plan to construct 75 luxury apartments and six villas between Marbella and Estepona. This residential project, a collaboration with Sierra Blanca, includes 42 flats and six villas in Estepona's Los Llanos area, plus 45 multi-family homes in Marbella's Nagüeles area.
With an investment of approximately 200 million euros, these "branded residences" will offer luxury homes with all the services and amenities of a five-star hotel.
Marbella is clearly set for an exciting transformation, both culinarily and residentially, thanks to these high-profile ventures! Are you as excited as we are to see Tatel open its doors?
