Rafa Nadal is continuing to invest in the Costa del Sol, with exciting plans to open his very first tennis centre on mainland Spain in Marbella.
The recently retired tennis legend has several ventures underway in Málaga province, including two luxury property developments and top-tier sporting facilities
While full details are yet to be revealed, it’s widely anticipated that Nadal’s inaugural mainland tennis school will open ahead of the summer season in Marbella. The facility is expected to be built within the grounds of the iconic Hotel Don Carlos, currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion led by the Selena Group. Whispers of a second tennis academy in Málaga city are also gaining traction.
The Marbella tennis centre is set to feature seven clay courts, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels. Training programmes will draw on the expertise and winning philosophy of the 22-time Grand Slam champion, ensuring an exceptional sporting experience.
The new centre will also include two paddle tennis courts with sea views, a retail boutique featuring Nike and Babolat gear, and an exhibition showcasing some of Nadal’s most iconic trophies.
Nadal’s partnership with entrepreneur Abel Matutes has already brought two luxury residential developments to life. In Estepona, 40 elegant apartments and six exclusive beachfront villas are underway in the desirable Los Llanos area. Meanwhile, Marbella’s Nagüeles neighbourhood will soon welcome 40 high-end residences designed around the sought-after concept of ‘branded living’.
