San Pedro Alcántara is set for a major transformation under Marbella’s proposed €20 million urban regeneration initiative, known as Plan Red.

At the heart of the project is a state-of-the-art library and digital centre in Plaza Jorge Lorenzo Tejada. Far more than a traditional library, it will feature a rooftop terrace and offer digital training programmes aimed at bridging the digital divide in the local community.

Improvements are also planned for Calle Cocle, where outdated infrastructure will be upgraded with new paving and better accessibility, creating a more pedestrian-friendly and inclusive environment.

If approved, Plan Red could bring a significant cultural and digital uplift to the area—an exciting step forward for San Pedro’s ongoing evolution.
