The official lighting ceremony in Malaga is set for 22nd November, marking the beginning of the enchanting nightly music and light shows that will continue through January.
The Malaga Christmas Lights 2024 are celebrated as some of the most dazzling and beloved in Europe. This year, the display will feature an impressive 2.2 million LED lights. The grand switch-on event will take place on Friday, 22nd November, in the Plaza de la Constitución.
Throughout December, the lights will illuminate the city every evening from 6:30 pm to midnight on weekdays, and until 2 am on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This year, the renowned sound and light shows are scheduled for 6:30 pm, 8 pm, and 10 pm, accompanied by family-friendly entertainment in Málaga's main squares and streets.
The Christmas market, located in the park adjacent to the Plaza de la Marina near the Pompidou Centre, operates daily from 12 pm to 8 pm. Here, you can find an array of treasures, including figurines, shepherd costumes, tambourines, sweets, and handcrafted jewellery.
The main Alameda avenue will be decorated with thousands of white lights adorning the city's most iconic trees, leading the way to the famous Marques de Larios roundabout.
Christmas concerts featuring violins, guitars, and flutes fill the air with festive melodies in the city centre. These performances can be enjoyed at the foot of the Alcazaba, in the Plaza de la Merced, or along the Calle Larios.
