Estepona's new car park, accommodating 500 vehicles, is set to open in November, providing an opportunity to enhance the surrounding streetscape.
The Plaza del Ajedrez, now home to the underground car park, has been revitalised, along with the adjacent C/ Mallorca, C/ Menorca, and C/ Francisco Gutiérrez. The project included the addition of garden and park areas, as well as upgrades to mains service supplies.
Half of the parking spaces will be reserved for residents as permanent spots for their vehicles, while the remainder will be available to the general public at a maximum cost of €1 per day. Management of the facility is handled not by a corporate entity but by an Estepona association focused on employing disabled individuals.
With these 500 new spaces, the Costa del Sol town will have over 1,350 parking spaces, many central to the town. The site will be operational by November.
